Site Specific W-I-P is a unique San Antonio performance art tradition that provides artists with a unique opportunity to create work that is integral to the history, landscape, and architecture of specific San Antonio spaces. Site Specific performance artwork is time-based and not permanent, it allows for spaces and locations to have a moment of transformation. Site Specific artists delve into the utility, function, and beauty of unnoticed spaces that are considered non-traditional performance spaces, and the viewer is allowed a fleeting experience that does not leave a visual, plastic artifact, but instead leaves an indelible feeling, experience, and new knowledge or insight into a specific San Antonio place/space.
Site Specific artists are chosen for their previous experience with performance construction in non-traditional spaces and for their proposal ideas.
